Five Brothers by Penelope Douglas - Review
I wanted to like this book. I was thinking, Okay girl, another Credence! The setup had good... dark, broody men, a tense and mysterious atmosphere, and that signature Penelope Douglas mystery. But honestly? It just didn’t work for me.
The story felt all over the place. So many characters, so much tension, yet none of it really went anywhere. I kept waiting for things to click, for the plot to make sense, but instead, it just felt like a string of chaotic moments thrown together. The relationships? Hard to connect with. The pacing was so weird. And the ending was just... nothing.
There were glimpses of something good, Iron had potential, Army’s story could have been SO GOOD, but instead, everything just felt messy. If you enjoy dark, complicated stories with a raw edge with a... why choose type vibe, you may like this... Just not me.
★★☆☆☆
